• On shaking,the medicament stays in suspension long enough for the dose 

to be withdrawn.

• The suspension is easily pourable.

• The sediment formed on standing is bulky and readily redispersible.

• The particles in the suspension are small and of uniform in size.  The product is free from grittiness

Procedure:

1. Disperse sodium CMC in 10ml water to form smooth mucilage.

2. Dissolve citric acid, sodium citrate, sucrose, methyl paraben and propyl paraben in 40ml of water.

3. Sieve paracetamol through 60mesh. Disperse paracetamol in sodium CMC mucilage using a mortar and pestle.

4. Add raspberry flavour and amaranth solution. Mix well and transfer to a tared container.

5. Make up the volume.

Directions: for child: 5-7 year : 6-8ml

                                  7-9 year :8-10ml

                                  9-11 year :10-13ml

                                 11-12 year :13-14ml

In each case 3-4 times a day or as directed by the  physician. Minimum dosing interval is in hours.
